In celebration of a fabulously exciting time, I decided to add some sportsmanship to my nails. I was thinking about doing the Olympic rings...but I was just too lazy. But I think this is fun, all the same.

awkward chic.
Here comes a week of polyvore fashion! Sometimes it just becomes so addicting. They're having a LensCrafters/Coach contest and I decided that I was just going to create one set...but like I said before, it's addicting and I made quite a few more....

repetition.
There are some movies and/or tv shows that I can watch over and over and over and OVER again and never tire of them. And, truth be told, there are some in here that are some definite guilty pleasures that many, many people would, and do, make fun of me for (aka Selena and Newlyweds...and a few more.)
But I apologize for nothing!
My main requirement for repetitive movie/tv-watching is that I don't have to pay super close attention to it, and also that its calming with a bit of humor. I cannot tell you how many times I have watched Notting Hill (my main one) or Love Actually...or The Holiday (I must have some subconscious British obsession.) Also when Knocked Up or Forgetting Sarah Marshall is on tv, I gravitate towards it "almost" every time...even though I clearly own it.
Sadly I have watched Newlyweds so much that I memorize [those few years of] their lives. My husband is sick of me saying "he/she was in Sex & the City/SVU" and I relate everyday life to Friends.
Tell me: what are you absolute faves and/or guilty pleasures?

I'm putting in Notting Hill as I'm typing this....

annual goodness
This past weekend was our annual family bbq over on Camano Island. I look forward to this every single year. It great to meet up with family we may not see as often, awesome place to hang out on the beach, usually some pretty good garage sales to browse, and the food...oh, the food. Words cannot express how good my uncle's halibut is. Even my mom eats it, and she is strongly against anything seafood related (unfortunate since she married into a Norwegian family.) But this year as I saw all of the food being prepared, with a mouthful of delightful appetizer's, I noticed one oh-so important thing missing. The halibut! I was heart broken. Until, that is, I smelled the shredded pork slowly cooking and being stirred...wafting flavors over in my direction. Once everything was done, I immediately went and piled myself up a pork sandwich. And I will never regret that decision. My uncle was forgiven.
Also, this year the bbq fell on my dad's birthday and I made him a Whopper Cake. That's right - a birthday cake wrapped entirely in Whoppers. When I was younger not a day went by when my dad didn't have carton of whoppers by his side. It was delicious, but...a little hard to cut.

fluff.
I hope all of you had a great holiday. In anticipation of the tent and campfire-filled week we had ahead of ourselves I knew I was going to be baking something. Then I remembered this recipe that I had found a month ago and knew that this, in addition to my cookies and brownies, was going to be THE PERFECT snack for the holiday. A sweet and salty mixture that would be perfect roasted over a fire and then smooshed in between graham crackers and chocolate. Mine, sadly, turned out a little squishy, but the flavor was still fantastic and they were squared off and ready to roast!
ready and waiting for camping!
